with many tools being around, how do you keep yourself good at vanilla JS?

with many tools being around, how do you keep yourself good at vanilla JS?

hi there!

i have been learning web development for more than a year now. i focus mainly on javascript. my goal was to be good at plain javascript so i stayed away from using libraries and frameworks for a long time and when i felt it's time to dive into frameworks and started learning react it was easy for me to understand it and i was comfortably using it in small projects, but i feel like this is not enough and i should really know what's going on under the hood so i go through react source code and try to understand the code but i always get lost and overwhelmed by the complexity of the code so i start to feel furstrated and tell myself that i am not yet ready to use this library. i get the same feeling whenever i try to use any tool or npm package and this slows my progress down. so the question is "do you have to understand the framework's source code before using it?"
